Es Ist Freitag - Lasst Uns Tanzen!

No tickets for Kraftwerk at the Tate then? Me neither. But since I've been digging about in Deutsche Elektronische Musik all week, when not struck down by a work-cancelling (money losing!) man flu, maybe I can offer some solace with this excellent slab of early 80s German synth music: bouncy - definitely something you could do your Joanne and Susan to. Or pop in the car cassette after your Düsseldorf boys as you drive moodily West.

E.M.A.K is Elektronische Musik Aus Köln. Natürlich!

E.M.A.K - 'Filmmusik' (1982)

(I've a guvnors meeting at the school tonight till 6pm. It's a bloody outrage. Start without me).

  1. A pint of LP Glo and a rum & ginger beer. Davy said he would square you up when he gets in.

Not bad that Mr H, was listening to Faust, It's A Raing Day, Sunshine Girl earlier in the week.

    Anyway, here's to the weekend

  5. Hunkered down at home with the family awaiting a massive Nor'easter (that's what they call big-arse storms here) due to hit soon and drop two feet of snow on us. Supposed to go on until tomorrow afternoon so I'll be stuck here awhile. Haven't started drinking yet though.

I love the word Nor'easter. It's very pirate-y and Captain Birds Eye.

  6. Lee, hope the forecasting over there is more accurate than it is here, if it is I would start drinking now as with 2 feet of the white stuff you won't be able o go anywhere anyway.

  13. OK Drew - only on a Fri because of emergency rescheduling, so I can forgive. At least, now I have a glass in my hand.

This sort of thing is mostly new to me too P - comp is well worth a listen, some v.good things on it. I am very post-punk right now, must be the weather.

  14. Did you watch that LP thing with Danny Baker on BBC4? After watching I have decided that I am basically a singles kind of guy as I can't think of more than 10 lps that I can listen to all the way through.

    Mine's on the 45.

  15. I hated the 'rock' one - but then, I don't think I've ever really liked 'rock' music, at least as defined on that programme (except for the Bowie and The Who and - OK - the Floyd). The 'R&B' one with Trev Nelson and Martin Freeman and Mica I thought was quite a bit better. Still felt like a radio programme, mind.

I could def list a stack of albums I listen to all the way through.

    Just might here, in fact

(risk of stepping on JC's toes, minimal)

  17. PPS: Which made me think of Cap'n Baines and 'Get down below man' which made me think of Peter 'Onedin Line' Gilmore who sadly died this week, RIP. And Donald Byrd too : (

  19. Arrr, lads. There be huge dunes of white snow outside this morning and it's still coming down.

Power went out for about an hour last night. Luckily I had just boiled the kettle so was able to make a cup of tea. Brewing tea by torchlight made me feel very British.

  22. I really like that. Didn't think I would but I do.

Some mallarkey wouldn't allow me to 'play' so had to download to listen.

    Glad I did.
