I'm taking a break from blogging.

I appear to have lost my Ghost mojo.

I'll see you I hope on Twitter and Soundcloud and This Is My Jam - and in that chair in the corner of the Snug.

Happy New Year companeros x

  1. Fucking Hell Davy! Have you thought this through? Where are we going to go now on a Friday night you selfish bastard and that's Glo out of a job!

Take care and all the very best to you and the girls for next year.

  2. Thank you Drew - same to you and the lads and L.

Yes, I've been thinking about it for a long time. Look back at older posts and you'll see a fizz and bop that hasn't been here for a while.

    I'll be back if I get re-inspired!

Perhaps someone will take Glo on, on a part-time basis? It's all she can manage now anyway, what with her trouble.

  5. It is a very informative book which I refer to on a weekly basis.

    It has been a blast.

  10. PS: You know before Simon had a blog and he was always posting really long almost-posts-in-themselves comments on other peoples? I'll be like that for a bit.

  11. ....well, you kept stealing my ideas, maybe the time is right........seriously, I've enjoyed reading these pages for what must be years now. And you've put some fine fine music on. Thanks.

  12. Will miss your Friday night banter and the virtual drinks Davy .. and the music!
Hope you recharge those batteries and make a welcome comeback.

  13. As I was getting ready for tonight's celebrations, here come the bad news..
Well, do whatever you think it's good for you, Davyh. However, I will be waiting for your comeback. Buon anno nuovo, amico,

  15. Sorry to hear that your mojo has done a runner (temporarily?), but as someone who's here one day and gone the next, I can certainly understand.

All the very best for the New Year, Davy - and I do hope you find, as I repeatedly do, that you just can't stay away for long.

  16. I know how you feel Davy. Here I am on New Year's Eve trying to figure out if I really want to do this for another year. My rule is can't ever feel like a job. The minute it does, it's no longer fun. Half the sports reporters I've met had a passion for sports until it became a job. So enjoy the time away, recharge and maybe even pop in every so often with a song. We'll be waiting ...

  19. Well obviously I know how it goes with the blog, and going back to being a waffly commentator has actually been fun. Perhaps it will reignite things.

  20. I hope so. And you know what else? I actually need to pick up some more new old records to blether on about - and that'll take a fair bit of noodly rummaging.

  25. It's Friday.. and no banter (I know I couldn't keep up with my own comments but I certainly loved reading the irreverent ping pong). Thanks for all the music and general wittiness. I'll be raising a glass to you (just as soon as I've cleaned out the fish tank!)

I thought I had detected a lack of spark in your recent posts. I know the feeling and I wonder if Feel It is also heading for another rocky patch.

As you mentioned above perhaps you need to discover some new old music to set you running again, that's what it always comes down to with me.

Derek See over at the Daily 45 went bout a week without posting after he announced his blog break. So maybe see you here again next week :)

HYN and good luck with your virtual life wherever that may take you from now on.

(Still can't get the Twitter bug I'm afraid).

  26. Davy. It's yer mum again.

Now listen here my lad. You're not too big for me to give you a thick ear. These lovely people come from all over the world and look forward to your inane ramblings. (Lord only knows why). They love to pop in and check on your welfare. There was a time you didn't get respect from anyone. Do you remember the incident with the goat on Bodmin Moor? If it hadn't been for your father being friends with Sgt Perenium, you would have stood trial.
You've a short memory and no mistake.

So stop thinking of yerself for once and plug in that gramaphone. You could play some James Last while we're waiting.
    .
That nice northern lad Dickie sits down with the Guinness Book of Hit Singles to accompany his evening constitutional. That might help with your lost Mingo (or whatever it is). The Dooleys see him through. Oh and that chubby girl; Tina Charles.

Now come on son. It's not all about you. It's about others and what they might want.

    Your mother. x
