Been a funny week. Afflicted by an 'upper respiratory tract infection' - which is always a reason to punch the air with joy. And yet, in a bizarre twist, over compensating on Lep-sips, penicillin and brandy has left me hovering in a slightly parallel universe; one where Miss Jamaica 1962 - wearing a tight silk kimono, Playtex cross-your-heart bra, and a 'take me snot boy' nine-yard stare has just wrestled me to the sand 'neath a cocunut tree.
In other news, I spent 14 phlegm-coated hours as the Presiding Officer at my local election Polling Station yesterday. (The things I do for money). The whole sorry experience left me wishing I lived in a totalitarian dictatorship.
A wonderful conclusion to this story. We asked him, and the eldest daughter's sax teacher confirmed, that he is *indeed* related to Marguerite: she was his 2nd cousin (i.e. they have the same Great Grandparents).
He says she is no longer with us, sadly. Also, that her sister Barbara married Jamaican PM Michael Manley.
Afternoon Mr H
ReplyDeleteBugger me, it's been a long day for a Friday, still all training up to date and inbox at an acceptable level of ignored emails.
Contemplating going off the drink for a wee while, will see how this evening goes.
Have a good weekend all.
Sobriety. No good will come of it.
