Yeah Baby

As this blog enters its sixth (!) calendar year I become increasingly prone to 'senior moment'-type mallarkey. "Did I tell you the story about me and Cool Jim singing this on the bus back from seeing The Jam at Shepton Mallet Showground in 1982, our jackets soaking with sweat from the mosh pit and - ?"

'Yes Dad (yawn)'.

I even had to double check I hadn't posted it before (don't think so).

Yer tiz then, as they say in Devon.

I shall require a beverage*

The Chi-Lites - 'Stoned Out Of My Mind' (1973)

* not cider, thanks.

  2. Not only this blog I think, but possibly over at mine, and maybe over at Lee's and Adam's as well. Still at least the line of drool from the corner of your mouth and eyebogies are virtual here. Pity your better half. Still Thats what children are brought into the world for, cleaning up dad.

    Tune though, no matter how my times I hear it. Theres a good John Holt versh too.

  5. Yes and I'm sorry it's not rare as hen's teeth or anything, but sometimes you just need to air a classic, knowworramean?

  6. Ill getcha a copy when I get home, its good, although perhaps not as good as the ones you will know. Its a little sweet in that early 70s way they did for the UK market. Strings and girly backing vocals. I may have the Jamaican mix too though, and that will be grittier and more sparse...

  7. You need to air the classics to jog the memory at our advanced ages...sometimes I almost forget what my various body parts are for. Quite embarrassing at the dentist. Open wide sir.....
