A quickie whilst I'm waiting in for the washing machine repair man, and a sort of response to this and this.

    Absolutely beautiful guitar playing.

    On a slightly related note I spotted a CD in a charity shop with Richard Hawley singing Some Candy Talking. Have you heard it?

    On the subject of Hank...

    A - he always reminded me of Kermit the Frog..

    B - I've been meaning to post the Shad's Scotch on the Socks for yonks..although you can grab as part of this

    Nice Burns guitar too..

    I can see a certain resemblance but Kermit's guitar-playing style is quite different.

    I'd love to hear him sing an old Jim Reeves song - maybe He'll Have To Go or Distant Drums (Richard Hawley that is, not Kermit).

    I Won't Forget You would be great. I can hear it in my head. With hindsight I think an englishman would have trouble pulling off all that 'Mary marry me' stuff in Distant Drums.
