So you survived the trip up North then Mr H. Have been quite worried about you, no postings since last Friday. Was going to twat you or whatever but couldn't remember my login,
You can have some of our rain Drew, we just had the wettest March on record here in MA. I spent most of the month down in our basement pumping water out so I don't feel in the slightest way romantic about rain at the moment.
Go and put on one of the music channels, one that is filled with pop smothered in autotune and electro beats - all of them in other words - turn it up, and dance around the room. That'll sort you out.
I usually go for Elvis - when I'm in a blue sort of a mood. this is great, great comp for downbeat times..
ReplyDeleteGood Time Charlie's Got The Blues and There's A Honky Tonk Angel in particular are worth lending an ear.
Saw Astrud about 12 years ago at the Jazz Cafe
Would like to have seen that: love the Jazz Cafe.

ReplyDeleteThe Getz/Gilberto jumps out of the store, every time I get it.
ReplyDeleteMost assume that this LP was meant to highlight her all along, but the "Getz/Gilberto" actually refers to her guitar playing husband.
Before that recording, she had never recorded and had barely sung outside of a shower.
Lucky for us.
the mrs has been rocking that hairdo recently - and rocking it mighty fine if i might say so. now if i can just get her singing desafanido....

ReplyDeleteWell bless you Simon and *virtual hug* but I'd think I'll just put some Billie Holiday on x
ReplyDeleteI'm mid-life crisis man at the moment. Only instead of a big red sports car I'm listening to Ke$ha.
ReplyDeleteI am also listening to Plan B, who is damn good. That's something to check out if you haven't already.
