Soul Friday

I guess that like last Friday's choon this might also be a contender for the 'covers that blow socks off' list, from the big fat bassline right on in (though the Sam Cooke'll always have a place in my heart).

The Stax sound baby, it never fades.

Play Loud.

Like you need me to tell you.

Eddie Floyd - 'Bring It On Home To Me' (1968)

  1. Now that is a tune.

One of L's favourite songs ever, especially the Ted Hawkins version. When drunk, she has a tendency to sing this and also The Wild Rover to the tune of Ghostriders in The Sky.

The work laptop has now been shut down.

    Have a good weekend.

  2. Quality drunk singing in a woman, you can't beat it.

Ta. I'm off Up North tomorrow for a Stag Event: racing at Doncaster followed by all the finest culture the town has to offer.

    Quite.

I must computerise my Ted Hawkins sometime.

  3. They really don't make 'em like they used to - just gorgeous and I could imagine The Faces doing a cover

Have a peep at this corker I found in the week

  4. Just popped in for a minute.

Mrs Drew sounds like my kinda gal.

Steady away in South Yorks Davy lad. You'll never have seen so many ugly people in one place.

Donny has a, er unique culture.

Must go, rugby and beer and a large fried haddock to dismantle.

    Love to all

  5. Doncaster is dangerous. Mrs Swiss is from them parts. I try not to cross the Pennines other than when strictly unavoidable.

  6. I'm doing it out of ancient loyalty. I hope it's appreciated. Lots of ugly people? I should fit in just fine.

  7. Crikey Mond, that is a corker! Mind, they'll have done that night after night; tightly rehearsed.

Still, the white girls liked it ;)

  8. I can't decide between the blonde and the dark haired girl in the opening shots.

Saw Johnnie Taylor's son perform last weekend and he is the spittin'image(not the TV show!) and sound of his father and...his name is Floyd!
    Gotta be named after Eddie.
Look me up on Facebook and thank you again.
