a blog of blether & grooves 2006-13
Well, I've missed a bit 'round these 'ere parts. Belated birthday greetings.Friday Reggae for me tonight - off to see The Mighty Diamonds - with my son - ah, I've taught him well.word veri: coussi - sounds like soul food.
Magnificent mentoring there Darce - enjoy!
Good to see the Reggae back Mr H.L is away to help out at the school disco, I think she has gone mad. I expect to hear the words "pour me a glass of wine, quick" and "never again" around half past nine.Have a good weekend comrades.
Boom - Woofers & tweeters a-gogo. Nearly blew me feckin heed off.'Take That' you might say. (Thought you'd be sleeping rough down Wembley Way last night Davy with a tartan flask and a 'I heart Robbie' sleeping bag?)Just a small tincture this evening. Out on poppy selling duties later.(I may shake me moneymaker in front of the barmaids).
It's a heartening thought Dickie.Drew, your kids' school has what can only be described as an inconsiderately large number of Friday night discos, and I think you should take it up with the headteacher. When is a parent supposed to drink FFS?
Oh yes, nice bass. Loverly dubbery.
It get's worse davy, tomorrow we have twenty of the little blighters coming round for Max's birthday party and then the family for dinner, all 14 of them that are coming!
There is drinking in these comments. There is dubbery in these comments. There is shakery of moneymakery. There is school disco-ry. All that's missing is some good food. Fish and chip supper this evening, although I may knock up some of Nigella's slut spag tomorrow, with some nice home backed red-onion bread.
That will be home baked obviously.
Simon - I'm making some spag bog just now, 5 hrs simmering just hope the relations are bloody grateful.
I'm on a real dub buzz at the mo' I bought the Lerry Perry double CD this summer with one track riffing on the Doctor in the House theme. Augustus Pabloe is in the Amazon basket along with this King Tubby comp.Eldest Mondo (14 on Monday) has got a mate round for a sleep over - so frazzled nerves and fidgety slumber on the menu for tonight
I love that comp Mondo, that's been a regular on the Pod for a while now, it used to soundtrack my journey down to Holborn quite nicely before I moved down south west.
Fidgety slumbers and home-backed slut spag? Crikey readers, it's a childcaring gastronome special!(in dub)
PS: I'm getting in to the idea of posting extra tracks here in the comments - little bijou bonuses for the lovely people, we might say. So if you don't already have it, voici the non-dub original:Linton Kwesi Johnson - 'Di Great Insohreckshan' (1983)
I bought a lovely King Tubby 7" boxset this week from Boomkat. Righteous stuff
Mondo, if you haven't got these they are both worth the money.http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dub-Ghetto-Scientist/dp/B000CCS73I/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1288382711&sr=1-1http://www.amazon.co.uk/Father-Dub-King-Tubby/dp/B000AV8ZXI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1288382746&sr=1-1The King Tubby one especially good value for money
I'm grooving to Weatherall's dubbery over at acid ted. Funn yhow these things come together
Aye. Have been (re)listening to 'Screamadelica' this week. Dubtastic.
cor that'll shake the sunday morning cobwebs. smashing.never been able to stop giggling at gillespie. bowl headed tweeness in camden boozers for starters then staggering round our sainsburys looking for the heroin aisle greasy and lank and stinky a few years laterx
Wasn't it all Weatherall anyhow? Discuss.Word verif = 'shedlead' - a Dickie accessory?
