Davy, do you live in Trafalgar Square with Morney Cash? And also Ally?
Your new acquaintance was possibly someone from a past life. Or she was an undercover police officer hoping to bust you for whatever you might have been up to at the moment. I'm sure you looked suspicious. Or perhaps all she really wanted was a copy of the latest "News Of The World" which she was unable to find and she was unable to articulate her confusion about it because she can't really read. Or speak English. You should have made inquiries during the moment and at the time. Just think, the story might have become inspiration for your next book for cash money in advance rather than your next blog post for my idle amusement.
Firmly but gently eh? No child of mine ever did that! Btw, it is the female prerogative to go our own way once we have asked for directions. Something to do with which side of our astonishing brain is functioning that morning.
In Trafalgar Square today a stranger asked me if I would help her cross the road. She held my hand firmly but gently, like a child.
ReplyDeleteShe was not elderly or infirm, and didn't seem partially sighted. After we'd crossed, I asked her if she was OK.
She asked me where she could get a bus to Woolwich, and when I suggested a way, she walked off in the opposite direction.
The oddest thing was the hand-holding. There was nothing either aggressive or tentative about it.
It was as if she had known me for years.

Are you a portly black woman then?
ReplyDeleteStill sounds a play for today. In various shades of grey.
