Friday Reggae # 27

I cannot get enough of this lovely version of a lovely song by Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson, and neither can the eldest daughter who's been walking to school with it on her iPo these past weeks. She is an eleven and three quarter year old with taste, innit.

Sharon Forrester - 'Silly Wasn't I?' (1973)

Tell you what, I'll throw in the original too.

Heavens, look at the time! It's gin o'clock!

  1. *sigh* My 11 year old son tells me the guitar intro to Bon Jovi's Living On A Prayer is genius.

  2. Taste indeed. In a few years time your daughter will be going to Reggae gigs with you as I did with my son the other day to see Marcia Griffiths - enjoyed by all.

I suspect 4am tomorrow morning will still be wine o clock for me as we're off to one of "those" houseparties. Possibly no booting for me tomorrow.

  5. Ah yes - offspring.

15 yo daughter at her Prom Night tonight. £200 long aqua marine dress with cleavage a-gogo, spray tan, nails and hair, shiny bling things and a black limo.

Think I'll go pick her up later from the posh venue foyer, wearing my beige track suit bottoms pulled up to my chest, string vest with egg yolk down the front, my off-white socks n tartan slippers.

It'll be character building for her. She'll thank me for it in years to come.

  6. It's like Janet Kaye doing a Neil Sedaka song- which can only be good thing.
