The Smiling Hour

"We feel sorry for people that don't drink; when they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're gonna feel all day" - Frank Sinatra.

  1. Buenas Tardas from Madrid Mr H. have yet to see the outside of the hotel but am being taken out for dinner tonight.

Mini bar prices, outrageous, 6 euros for 40 gramms of Pringles, being Scottish a 40g tub doesn't constitute a snack, not even a mouthful. I bet crack is cheaper.

Will hopefully be imbibing some Xoriguer Gin Mahon later on.

  5. I'm off it today. Slow moving hangover and all that. Too much red vin and Aldi's version of Pimm's while watching this with Mrs M last night..

  6. 3 x Friday night pre-train-home pints to kill the pain of watching the England renaissance, starring Tommy Cooper as manager.

Drew has the plum draw tonight. Just hope that crack whore puts his underpants back on after his 'paella with a difference'.

I've a bottle of Bristol Cream to find and finish!!

  12. It's all about home-made Cassis - ideally it should probably wait until christmas but it looks and smells lovely and purple already so I thought I'd give it a go.

  13. Hola Mr H.

Had the best Bloody Mary ever today at Terminal 5, cost a fucking fortune but was the business.

BA have become right stingy with their booze, luckily I had the where with all to buy a couple of 1/2 bottles of vina sol at Barajas, so when the air stewardess told me that a complimentary drink meant one it was okay as I had my carry oot and proceeded to drink it and to think a couple of weeks ago I was sticking up for them against wee willie wanky walsh

  14. I bet it wasn't more expensive than the most expensive bellini in the world I had on the south bank a few weeks ago. Utterly blissfully lovely but stupidly expensive. I don't know how my mum afforded it.

  15. A good, strong cocktail at an airport is a fine thing, and hang the expense, says I.

  16. Vina Sol is great.

L is none too pleased as I am pished tonight, poor women had to pick me up from the airport when I demanded a tandoori mixed grill.

I feel a sunday rant coming on about crap brittish design, Terminal 5 as oppossed to cool european sophistication, Barajas terminal 4 but I may wake up in the morning and think better of it.
