Your inspiration never fails to brighten a grey day DH.
Is that a young Amanda Barrie with eyes like saucers going down Cleo lane.
Saw her as a Fairy Godmother not long ago - she must be 70 plus now. She slipped in the odd funny entendre about her lesbian persuasion. Mike Baldwin woulda choked on his cigar and Scotch.
(By the way there's a great little prog rock riff straight out of Yes's Long Distance Runaround on that song, between 21 and 26 seconds on the single version)
Bah, scooped. I was planning to post Nights Over Egypt (albeit the single version) at some point. But I'm delighted to have the 12", so thank you for that, Davy.
There isn't a huge difference Major, sadly. I do like my 12 inches to give me seriously more length *Kips explodes* but in this case it's an extra couple of trills half-inched from Yes (evidently) - though the hi(er)-fi(er) sound I can get behind.
This is the best part-work since The Unexplained - UFO's, Bigfoot, Stigmata, Spontaneous Human Combustion - and Kirlian Photography(?) - The Unexplained that is not these lovely disco groovers.
Now, have you got yourself the Magnum Opus CDs yet?
Investments can go down as well as up; the management accepts no responsibility for rejected mp3s; all downloads are made at the downloader's risk; Friday downloads may contain cheese, or may have been prepared with other products containing cheese; no correspondence will be entered into. JC not digging the groove. Must admit not one of your best I think it may have to do with the prog riff mentioned by Mick or could be the lack of gin, however all the other Friday posts tunes still sound good. I fear i may fall off the wagon today as tonic, ice & lemon just not working last pm. Looks as though child # 2 is going to be Monday unless tonight's hot curry does the trick. Friday downloads may contain cheese but I hereby give you warning I intend to outcheese you this Friday. I'm planning a response to the Fades in Slowly 1976 Festive Fifty and there's one very cheesy song from that year that's been on heavy rotation round these parts recently.
Infamy, infamy, they've all got it in for me!
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy these Friday twelve inches of yours by the way (matron!).
Now it definitely feels like Friday, alas no gin though.
ReplyDeleteTerrifying!

Nah, he'd have been up for a menage a trois would Mike.

ReplyDeleteI love this record though.
Boom boom boom be doom.
PS: It seems like two years ago, but it was only May when I shoved the single versh up...(Drew, you best not look - gin is involved).

Oo-er Mond, that's got my name on it innit?
ReplyDeleteMick, looking back at that May 08 post I see you posted the exact same comment about Yes!! Grey is the new blonde, clearly.
I was just going to say the same thing. At least I'm a consistant bore! Glad you like Henry - it put me in mind of Lady's Bridge so I thought of you.
ReplyDeleteThere's a full three volumes you know. I've only got number 2 at the mo' though - but at a bluey a time 'new or used' you've gots to get in..
ReplyDeleteOh - I'm late (and drunk!)...but divine...
