At about age 6 I apparently used to tug at my Mum's apron and shout "Fivers" whenever a particular track was played on the radio - that being Dave Brubeck's "Take Five". I'm sure I didn't rush out and buy the 45 but Mum or Dad must have. I still have it.
Then at about 14 when I did start buying singles I had a soft spot for Middle Of The Road.
Oh my God 44 - it's another nail in my coffin. Billy though - lovely.
ReplyDeleteAt 18 resident on my turntable were Chet Baker and Miles Davis. At 39 it's been Kate Nash and Girls Aloud.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a mid life crisis to me.
Sounds like at 39 you don't give a shit about being cool anymore.
